Hi, this is David from Technology, and in this screencast, I’ll show you how to export three types of data from Blackboard - Institution Content, Organizational content, and Personal content.
Personal and institution content can both be found on the Content tab of PAnet, so we'll start there. When you click on Content, you will be sent to your personal content page first. This page consists of anything you have stored in your personal folder on Blackboard; for most people this will probably have minimal content. Here I have a folder and a document that I could download individually, but the quickest way to get everything is to check this box here to select all items, and then click the Download Package button. This will create a zip file that saves to your computer, which you can then unzip and sort through later.
Institution Content consists of materials that belong to a particular office or department. You will not see all of these folders when you go into Institution Content, just the ones that contain information that you have permission to read. As before with your personal content, you can simply
check the box next to any of the folders you want to download in their entirety, which will create a zip file and download it to your computer. Alternately, you can click into the departmental folder and select individual files to download as a package if you prefer.
Organizational content is the last type of content you may want to back up, especially if you are the leader or faculty advisor of a campus organization, like a committee, a student club, a cluster, or some other group. To find your organization content, go back to the PAnet Desktop and look for the My Organizations module. Click the name of the organization, and then scroll down to the Organization Management area. Then click Content, and the name of the organization. You can then download these materials as a package or individually.
For more information about downloading materials from Blackboard, contact the Help Desk at helpdesk@andover.edu, and the next available technician will get in touch with you.
