Speaker Robert Trestan, is the executive director of the Boston office of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). This program is being held to commemorate Holocaust Remembrance Day, April 8, and is supported by the Sidney Paley Fund.
For the past decade or so the United States has experienced an alarming rise in white supremacist activity. This has resulted
in increased hate speech and propaganda, as well as increased violence against minorities, including Jews, people of color, and LGBTQ+ individuals. The year 2020 marked the highest level of incidents reported since the ADL began tracking such data—an average of about 14 incidents per day, nearly double the cases reported in 2019 and a 68% increase in propaganda targeting Jews. In this webinar, Trestan will report on these trends and describe what is being done and what else needs to be done to counter this crisis.
