At the height of 2016 Presidential Election, the Phillips Academy Department of Theatre and Dance is proud to present The Neofuturist’s 44 Plays About 44 Presidents. Eighteen students play over 160 roles in a series of exuberant two-minute plays examining the life and times of forty-four presidents and the two current candidates. Co-Directed by Allen Grimm and Kevin Heelan, 44 Plays About 44 Presidents highlights the internal conflict imbedded in the American Dream, where idealism fades into the backdrop of history and the story-telling power of theatre unmasks the short comings of our humanity. Performances will be held on Friday, November 4th and Saturday, November 5th.
The cast and crew of 44 Plays for 44 Presidents includes Grace Anthony ’17, Paige Busse ’19, Rhea Chandron ’19, Henry Crater ’20, Nell Fitts ’18, Dakoury Godo-Solo ’17, Harry Kahane ‘20, Kiarah Hortance ‘17, Ian Hurley ‘19, Junah Jang ‘20, Abigail Johnson ‘19, Kalina Ko ‘17, Makenna Marshall ‘18, Noble Ohakam ‘18, Justice Robinson ‘18, Niko Skrivanos ‘17, Bennett Sherr ‘17, and Evelyn Wu ‘18. 44 Plays for 44 Presidents is co-stage managed by Andrew Stern ’19 and Carley Kukk ’19, assistant directed by Lesley Tilghman ’19.
